COAWST Workshop 2019

Regardless of the government operational status, we will hold the workshop as planned. It will be lead by COAWST developers and expert users.
The 2019 Coupled-Ocean-Atmosphere-Waves-Sediment-Transport (COAWST) Workshop will provide four days of intensive instruction in the capabilities, applications, and operations of the COAWST coupled modeling system. Instructors include the developers of the modeling components as well as expert users.
You need to bring own computer (laptop). Wireless internet access and power will be provided. International users need to bring a plug adapter and possibly a converter (U.S. uses 110 V).
Attendees are encouraged to become familiar with each model separately before the workshop. For example, WRF requires large geo-datasets that need to be downloaded. If you are not familiar with this model, try the online tutorial and download those files before the workshop.
Each day the afternoon sessions will develop a realistic case that will build upon the morning lectures to include WRF, ROMS, and SWAN. This will provide a step-by-step tutorial to develop an application. There will also be opportunity for you to enhance your own setup, ask questions, share files and methods, and interact with other users and developers who are performing similar applications.
This Training will target people who have at least a basic working knowledge of the different components of the modeling system. Before attending, you should be able to download the code, compile it on your system, and run some of the basic test cases that are distributed. Please plan to attend with a working example of your own application. There will be time to continue developing your application, as well as discuss issues, share approaches, explain new features, and allow members to interact.
We are pleased to announce the release of COAWST v3.4. This includes many major updates, including ROMS to svn 934, and WRF + WPS to v4.0.3. The coupling system now includes:

Wireless internet connections will be provided during the workshop.
The number of on-line participants has reached the limit. No more on-line participants can be accepted. On-site seats are still available.
We cannot guarantee that live streaming of the workshop will be functional for on-line attendees for the entire workshop due to various technical (e.g., bandwidth) constraints.
On-line attendees will be muted and will be in listen-only mode. They will not have the opportunity to submit questions or comments in real time, nor chat with presenters.
For the best experience and most active learning, we recommend on-site attendance.
