Rolling out the Endpoint Protection Standard - Room 3285

Session Slides

Damon Armour (OIT-S&C) and Danny Davis (OIT-TSS) will provide an overview of the Endpoint Protection Standard and facilitate a question and answer session on the contents of the rule. The discussion will include details on the configuration management system (CMS) requirements and the security controls that make up the EPS.

News on Networking - Room 3222

Join Greg James and Troy Holder, along with other senior OIT ComTech engineers, as they discuss and host a Q&A on the current status of several networking projects and services. Topics will include the migration to Infoblox, Aruba 8.x upgrade + eduroam, network upgrades including VPN for AnyConnect client and more.

The State of Storage - Room 3210

Andy Kurth (OIT), Chris Allen (ITECS), Jason Maners (OIT), Aaron Peeler (OIT), and Tony Copeland (OIT) will facilitate a discussion on data storage options for NCSU faculty, staff, and students. Discussion topics will include OIT Research Storage, Google Drive, MS Storage Spaces Direct, and OIT General NAS & Block Storage.

ServiceNow and IT Service Management updates - Room 3222

OIT is working to establish a number of key IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and implement them in ServiceNow. These include: knowledge management, incident management, configuration management (CMDB), service portfolio, service catalog, request management, and change management. Join Bryce Clodfelter, Susan West, Danny Davis, John Constantelos, Kristina Kelly, Nik Davlantis, and Greg Sparks for a discussion of these activities and an updated roadmap.

Leveraging Configuration Management Environments - Room 4101

Join campus experts on Configuration Management Environments from ITECS, Libraries and OIT to discuss tips, tricks, processes, and tools to help with all aspects of automatic computer configuration management. Michael Underwood, Dustin Wheeler, Joseph Jenkins and the CSI group will present.

NC State’s SHRA/EHRA IT Position Transition - Room 3285

Lori Preiss and members of the EHRA IT Implementation work group will provide an overview/update of the EHRA Conversion for IT Professional project. The UNC System received statutory authority to apply EHRA non-faculty status to IT professional positions that are exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. Approximately 525 employees in at NC State will have the option to convert to EHRA or remain SHRA if they choose.
