Past, Present, Future!
Welcome to Campus News Past, Present, Future! where we will be discussing the previous and upcoming events happening on campus! First off, huge congratulations to our Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams for finishing the season strong! Senior night was amazing, and it was an honor to recognize all the talented athletes in Basketball and Cheer.
But as seasons change, we turn towards Women’s Soccer as they just played competitively in a jamboree kicking off the start of their season. Men’s Tennis tryouts began on 2/18, and the team’s buzzing with excitement for the upcoming season. Track and Field also started Tuesday with practices to get their athletes ready for future competitions. And finally, an ambitious group of dedicated athletes began our very first Men’s Volleyball team that held tryouts on 2/16! Very excited to see their season this year with hopes that we get some form of a home game so students can show their support for the inaugural team!
In other news, the campus is just buzzing with events this month. BSU has held wonderful events for Black History Month, two of the most notable being Karaoke Night where we were serenaded by hits like ‘679’ by Fetty Wap and ‘Love’ by Keisha Cole, and the Motown Mixer, complete with line dancing, laughter, and of course, food! In the upcoming weeks, they will have more events, including a Black History Month student research showcase.
To really get into the spirit, the theater department held a Mean Girls watch party. Next month they will perform their rendition of Mean Girls as the spring musical, make sure to go see it!
SAB’s Palentines event was full of so much love, it was quite the staple for Valentine’s Day on campus! Complete with heart candy, cotton candy, and everything pink and red from cookies and cake to decorations and outfits. Whether taking cute Polaroids with friends or sending cute messages to more-than-friends, there was definitely something for everyone at this event!
That’s it for this Past, Present, Future! It’s been quite a month for Morganton and the festivities are just getting started! See you next time, and hopefully at some of these events!
