Graduation requirements consist of three components.
Component 1: Course Completion - Students must complete a minimum of 24 credits, with specific credits required in each content area.
Component 2: Competency Demonstration - Students will demonstrate competency in the foundational areas of English language arts and mathematics through alternative demonstrations, which include College Credit Plus, career-focused activities, their ACT or SAT scores, or military enlistment. All students must take the IOWA Assessment prior to the allowable alternatives becoming an option.
Students must earn a Math Competency Score of 255 or higher on the IOWA Math Assessment, AND
Students must earn an English Competency Score of 249 or higher on the IOWA ELA Assessment.
Component 3: Readiness Demonstration - Students will demonstrate readiness for their post-high school paths by earning two diploma seals. One seal must be a state-defined seal, the second seal may be a different state-defined seal or a locally defined seal.
