A native of Indiana, Mrs. McClain graduated from Ball State University with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and obtained her graduate degree in Counseling Psychology also from Ball State University. As an LPC, she practiced counseling for 11 years. She has been a School Counselor for 14 years. She has been a counselor at Northern Nash High School for 14 years. She has two children, loves Diet Mountain Dew, and vacationing at the beach or mountains.

Mr. Dean

School Counselor Last Names H - Pin

A high-tider of Beaufort, Mr. Dean graduated from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke with an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and obtained his graduate degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. Mr. Dean served as a Law Enforcement Officer for 5 years and 7 years as a Multisystemic Therapist. He has been a school counselor for 10 years (Swift Creek Elementary -7, Northern Nash High School -3). He is the Scoutmaster of Troop 16 in Red Oak. He and his wife have 4 children. Mr. Dean enjoys outdoor recreational activities, online gaming, and art.

An Alumni of Northern Nash High School, Mrs. Burnette graduated from East Carolina University with an undergraduate degree in Recreational Therapy. Mrs. Burnette obtained her graduate degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. Mrs. Burnette has served 4 years in education. She has been with Northern Nash High School for 4 years. She and her husband have two children. Mrs. Burnette enjoys reading, watching tv, Pepsi, and shopping.

Mrs. Engelking

A native of Rocky Mount, Mrs. Engelking graduated from Nash Community College. Mrs. Engelking has served 16 years in education. She has been with Northern Nash High School for 4 years. She and her husband have three children. Mrs. Engelking enjoys the beach, saltwater fishing, gardening, and DIY projects.

Mrs. Pittman

Social Worker

An Alumni of Northern Nash High School, Mrs. Pittman graduated from East Carolina University and graduate school from North Carolina State University. Mrs. Pittman has served over 20 years in education here at Northern Nash High School. She and her husband have two children. Mrs. Pittman enjoys family time, old tv shows, and any UNC-Chapel Hill sports.

Mrs. Hileman-Steele

School Psychologist

Originally from Maryland, Ms. Hileman-Steele has lived in the Carolinas for over half of her life. She graduated with her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Coastal Carolina University and with both her Master's and Specialist degrees in School Psychology from East Carolina University. Additionally, she holds her national certification from the National Association of School Psychologists and is also an active member of the North Carolina School Psychology Association and the North Carolina Association of Educators. Ms. Hileman-Steele has worked in education for almost ten years, three of which have been at Northern Nash. She and her husband have one child. In her free time, Ms. Hileman-Steele enjoys reading, crocheting, hiking, cheering for the Carolina Hurricanes, and all things Disney.
