OPES 2.0 CREDENTIALING

The Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OPES) 2.0 is designed to support the evaluation of principals and other administrators. The credentialing process includes the following:

1) Participate in an OPES 2.0 Training - Search the OPES 2.0 Evaluator Training in STARS (within the OHID Portal) for registration information.  Sessions are scheduled throughout the year.  District and building leaders who may not be responsible for evaluating principals are welcome to attend the training for an in-depth study of the OPES 2.0 model.

2) Earn a Corresponding Credential - After completing training requirements, participants will be granted access to the OPES 2.0 credentialing assessment within the Insight Advance - Ohio platform. Participants must take and pass the credentialing assessment to evaluate administrators using OPES 2.0. There are credentialing assessment options available within the platform.

3) Re-credential Every Two Years - Credentialed evaluators will receive notification their credential is expiring and can access the re-credentialing assessment in Insight Advance - Ohio. Participants must take and pass the re-credentialing assessment to evaluate administrators using OPES 2.0.
