Objectives
For the month of October, middle school students have been focussing on colored pencil techniques. Starting in November, we will learn about watercolor pencils in our Unit 3. Our powerstandards for the month of November are:
- 6.V.3.3 Create art in different media using various techniques and processes
- 7.V.3.3 Compare techniques and processes to create art.
- 8.V.3.3 Evaluate techniques and processes to select appropriate methods to create art.
Art Fee
There is a $5.00 art fee for all middle school students enrolled in a visual arts course. Please instruct your child to bring this money to me so I can make sure it goes into our art account. I will receipt it and provide a copy of the receipt to your child. Thank you for supporting the arts. The table to the right gives an example of how these funds will be spent. I also supplement our budget with grants, DonorsChoose, and donations.
Colored Pencils

Watercolor Pencils
During November, we will be learning about watercolor. We will learn about watercolor pencil techniques and traditional watercolors.
