Kindergarten

Kindergarten students have been learning classroom procedures and expectations, while also learning about using a variety of art materials. We are focusing on the element of Line, Shape, and Color and created artwork to show our understanding. Ask your child about our friends in the art room like Larry the Snake, Glenda Gluestick, Susie Scissors, and Peter Paintbrush.

1st Grade

September 15th was Dot Day, so students have been creating artwork based on the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. First grade artists created their own dot designs focussing on the elements of line, shape, and color.

2nd and 3rd Grade

September 15th was Dot Day, so students have been creating artwork based on the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds. Second and third grade artists created "Dot Designs" that illustrated 6 of the elements of art (line, shape, color, texture, value, and space).

4th and 5th Grade

Students in fourth and fifth grade worked on making flip-books about the elements of art. They will use these in the future when we talk about and write about art. To help understand how the elements of art are used to develop a composition, students created their own artwork to illustrate each element.
