HS Advancement Course: ESL English Enrichment
This summer course is designed to enrich the academic English skills of ESL students currently enrolled in ESL III, ESL IV, or Honors ESL Literacy at the New Brunswick High School. Students will focus on becoming stronger readers and writers following a workshop model that includes systematic instruction in academic vocabulary and language, close reading, and academic writing and research. Students will also strengthen their listening and speaking skills as they actively participate in the small-group sessions. A special emphasis will be placed on the acquisition of academic vocabulary. At the end of the course, students will take the WIDA Model (Measure of Developing the English Language) to measure English Proficiency growth.
Dates: *July 8 - August 2, 2024
Times: Monday - Friday from 7:45 AM - 2:00 PM (Levels 1- 4)

*All students who enroll in summer programs must plan to attend every day the program is in session.
