In addition to the courses required to obtain a High School Diploma, the courses listed below are recommended for pursuing a career in Education.
Future Teachers

Students will examine the issue of self-esteem and how this impacts the classroom; discover their learning preferences and how this knowledge will help them both as a college student and future educator; and examine and observe human growth and development theories in diverse classroom settings. Finally, students will be introduced to the exceptional learner, explore various barriers to learning, and recognize the role that diversity and culturally relevant learning experiences play in classrooms.
Prerequisite(s): Application and Teacher Recommendation
This program of study includes supervised practical training in an educational setting. Students develop workplace readiness skills, professionalism, and independence. Students will also have an opportunity through observation, interview and study to develop an understanding of the teaching profession.
