Strategies and Accommodations

• Raised lined paper to provide tactile cues
• Scaffold with tracing, dot to dot, near point copying, far point copying, writing from memory
• Stickers or other visual cues at left side of paper for starting point when writing
• Avoid visually complex worksheets
• Transition to typing as primary writing medium as handwriting difficulties persist into third grade and beyond
