Outcomes:
- SW respond their peers’ writing through discussion boards and document sharing software.
- SW utilize written responses in order to communicate strengths and weaknesses in their peers’ writing.
- SW utilize academic and audience-appropriate diction in order to maintain professional and academic relationships with peers/colleagues.
Lesson:
- Students will post on a discussion board a first draft of a writing assignment for the course, along with any comments about concerns they have for their writing.
- Students will utilize the “Effective Peer Feedback Through Written Communication” handout to craft their written feedback to their peer.
Assessment:
Students can account for how their peer feedback improved their writing through written reflection. Students can engage in metacognitive thinking about how peer feedback did or did not shift their thinking and writing through their drafting process.
