The Importance of Customer Service in a Remote Company and a Linguistic and Cultural Analysis of Madrid, Spain 

Abstract:

The objective of this internship was to learn the importance of customer service in a remote business that has clients all over the world. To have a good relationship with clients one needs to have a method to maintain this communication. The method that was utilized in this internship was based on emails and video calls. The results of this internship have demonstrated the importance of constant communication because the clients will want to use the business’s services. My contribution helped the retention of clients and the improvement of the company. Additionally, I learned a lot about the language and culture. Spain has a distinct dialect that is evident in the distinction in sounds for the words with <z, ci, ce> and <s>. Also, the use of grammatical structures like the use of vosotros and the past perfect tense were challenges during my time in Spain. However, I had to adapt to these differences, integrate into the culture, and better my intercultural competence.

La Importancia de la Atención al Cliente en una Empresa Remota y un Análisis Lingüístico y Cultural de Madrid, España

Abstract (Global Language):

El objetivo de esta pasantía fue aprender la importancia de la atención al cliente en una empresa remota con clientes en todo el mundo. Para tener una buena relación con los clientes se necesita un método para mantener esa comunicación. El método utilizado en esta pasantía se basó en correos electronicos y videollamadas. Los resultados de esta práctica han demostrado la importancia en una comunicación constante porque los clientes querrán utilizar los servicios de la empresa. Mi contribución ayudó a la retención de los clientes y al mejoramiento de la empresa. Además, aprendí mucho sobre la lengua y la cultura. España tiene un dialecto distinto que es evidente en la distinción en los sonidos para las palabras con <z, ci, ce> y <s>. También, el uso de las estructuras gramaticales como el uso de vosotros y el uso de pretérito perfecto fueron retos durante mi tiempo en España. Sin embargo, tuve que adaptarme a estas diferencias e integrarme en la cultura y mejorar mi competencia intercultural.
