International Trade Internship in Taiwan

Abstract:

The latter portion of the study abroad program in Taiwan involved an internship designed to facilitate engagement with the host country's workforce. This four-month internship took place at Taiwan Biotech Co. (TBC), a local pharmaceutical manufacturer that develops and supplies generic drugs across various therapeutic areas within the International Business and Development Department (IBDD). The internship encompassed several projects, including the surveying of pharmaceutical markets in different countries and the research of potential business partnerships with companies operating in those markets. In addition to acquiring practical experience in marketing, the internship promoted a deeper understanding of international trade and Taiwanese culture, including social norms and relationship dynamics within the professional environment.
