Comparative Analysis of the Security Standards Between Argentina and Canada 

Abstract:

The goal of this project is to investigate the differences between the safety regulations in the mines of Argentina y the regulations of the mines of Canada. This paper will explore the missing conditions in the Argentinian standards against the Canadian standards. The financial situation of Argentina and the effect that that has on the safety of today and the future of the safety is imperative to complete a comprehension of Argentina. My experience in my internship, working in Yacimientos Mineros de Agua de Dionisio is going to inform this work with an investigation of the regulations from YMAD and PDAC of Canada. When I was living in the mine gave me the opportunity to study Spanish as well. There are unique characteristics of the Spanish from Argentina in relation to phonetics, lexicon, morphology, and sociolinguistics. My interactions with this culture resulted in more intercultural competency and gratitude for Argentina.

Análisis Comparativa de los Estándares de Seguridad Entre Argentina y Canadá

Abstract (IGP Language):

La Meta de este proyecto es investigar las diferencias entre las reglas de seguridad en las minas de Argentina y las reglas de las minas de Canadá. Este papel explorara las condiciones falta de los estándares Argentinas. La situación financiera de La Argentina y el efecto que esto tiene en la seguridad hoy y el futuro de la seguridad es imperativo para completar una comprensión de Argentina. Mi experiencia en mi pasantía trabajando en Yacimientos Mineros de Agua de Dionisio va a informar este trabajo con una investigación de las reglas de seguridad de YMAD y PDAC de Canadá. Mientras estaba viviendo en la mina me dio la una oportunidad de estudiar español también. Hay características únicas en el español en Argentina en relación la fonética, el lexicón, la morfología y la sociolingüística. Mis interacciones con esta cultura resultaron en más competencia intercultural y una gratitud por la cultura de Argentina.

Have you ever considered that when someone loses an arm, leg, finger or hand that this could create a ghostly apparition of said severed extremity. What if you could peer through the vail and see these lost body parts. If you could you probably find a surprising amount of these partial apparitions in most buildings, all mostly likely from construction workers who had a bad day.

My name is Jackson Henkels, and it was my job to prevent the creation of these phantoms when I was working safety and hygiene internship in a Gold and Silver Mine in Catamarca during my time living in Argentina. For my semester at school I studied geology in San Miguel de Tucuman, to substitute classes for my original major of Construction Management.

While Argentinian mining standards have come a long way since the days of Spanish domination, they are still lagging compared to more developed countries as a result of the Argentinian economy. The issues they face are the expected issues from being a poorer country such as old machinery, dated information, and poor distribution of information.

While I was living there, I was able to experience some of the novelties of Argentinian Spanish and culture. This includes their unique porteño accent, their use of vos instead of tu and their fusion of Italian and Spanish slag. I was also able to experience first hand their love for soccer and asados.
