Hello! My name is Mrs. Monroy.  I was born and raised in Sacramento, and it has always been home.  I went to Sacramento State to receive my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies.  Following that, I attended William Jessup University to receive my teaching credential and Master's Degree in Teaching.  During that time, I had the opportunity to teach in a K/1 combo class, as well as 6th grade.   After that, I spent some teaching time in a 4th grade class and a 5th grade class.  I then went on to teach 1st grade for 3 years.  This is now my 7th year at Star and I am so excited to be in 1st grade! 

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, which includes my husband, our 7 year old daughter, and our dog.  I enjoy playing games, reading books, DIY projects, baking and doing anything related to Disney.  I also enjoy spending time with extended family and my closest friends.
