About Our Math Class

Important Class Norms:

    • Math is all about creativity and reasoning, not about racing through problems.

    • I love when students make mistakes and ask questions.

    • Everyone in here is a valued math learner and together we can achieve great things!

    • Always focus on learning, not performing.

Class Materials:

          • Headphones

          • Chromebook

          • Online textbook

          • Binder and filler paper

          • Pencils/erasers

Grading:

          • Classwork/Projects 20%

                  • 2 Points - Done on time and accuracy of 70% or above

                  • 1 Point - Late OR Done on time with less than 70% accuracy *Low scores can be re-done after school for full credit (2 points)

                  • 0 Points - Not completed * Must be completed within 1 week of the due date for credit

          • Homework - 20%

              • Weekly Review HW Graded on a 4 Point Scale

                  • 4 Points: 20-24 correct

                  • 3 Points - 15-19 correct

                  • 2 Points - 10-14 correct

                  • 1 Point - 5-9 correct

                  • 0 Points - 0-8 correct

              • All other daily homework Graded on 2 Point Scale

                  • 2 Points - Done on time and accuracy of 70% or above

                  • 1 Point - Late OR Done on time with less than 70% accuracy

                  • 0 Points - Not completed * Must be made up within 1 week of the due date for credit

          • Assessments - 60%

                  • No retakes on quizzes

                  • Tests below a 70% may be retaken for a maximum retake score of 70% AFTER staying after school to review concepts

Homework:

    • Worksheets are to be completed and brought to class the next day; please use a separate piece of paper as needed to show all work and staple it to the back of the assignment

    • Online homework MUST be solved in your binder with the following heading at the top

          • Name

          • Date

          • Website it is posted on (BIM, Edulastic, Etc)

          • Section we are covering (Ex. 1.2 means Ch. 1, Section 2)

    • If you get "stuck" on any homework assignment, remember to use your resources!

          • Look at the online textbook

          • Review examples we did in class

          • Check the Daily Agenda for posted videos, tips, etc.

          • Call a friend

When you are absent:

    • Please check the Agenda for the day you missed (Posted in Google Classroom and on this website)

    • Stay after school with Mrs. Boczanowski to review concepts missed
