Tuesday Giving
by: O. Nagler
As we approach the holiday season, most people immediately think of Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas; however, another important day should be recognized and celebrated, and it is Giving Tuesday; you may ask yourself, “What is Giving Tuesday?” Giving Tuesday is a day celebrated globally and a day of generosity, in which people donate to many different kinds of organizations. To many, it may not seem important, but Giving Tuesday is a way for people and communities to change or improve the world through kindness and humanity. One organization displaying terrific generosity and enriching our community is the Nashwauk Area Community Fund (NACF).
The Nashwauk Area Community Fund is a nonprofit organization that strives to support various organizations. Out of the many organizations they serve, they help those from Nashwauk, Keewatin, Buck Lake, Nashwauk Township, Pengilly/Swan Lake, and Goodland.
You may wonder about the importance of the Nashwauk Area Community. The organization has become the backbone of the community and the activities which reside in the local giving areas. As someone who lives in not only the local community but has benefited from the support of the NACF through membership in various school and community activities and organizations, I am incredibly proud. With their help, purchasing the necessary equipment and funding the everyday costs would be easier. Many organizations require additional funds to meet the cost of essential expenses. The benefits NACF provides continue well beyond monetary assistance. By assisting with costs, new ideas and projects can be launched, existing programs flourish, a sense of community is created, and the quality of life for our neighbors is obtainable.
The Nashwauk Area Community Fund allows people of all ages to benefit. Giving Tuesday is essential as it is a day to give back to organizations like NACF, which support all aspects of our community. It is a way to show appreciation whether you have benefited directly or indirectly. As a community member, donate, create, and leave a legacy to be appreciated by many generations. The Nashwauk Community Fund was built with both small and sizable contributions. You can support the NACF in many ways besides cash, such as donating stocks, bonds, and real estate. It is an alternative to money, and your charitable gift can qualify for additional tax advantages. The Nashwauk Area Community Fund is only possible with the support of generous donors.
Our upcoming plans include adding interesting articles to our website. You can follow what we are up to on our Facebook page.
On behalf of The Nashwauk Community Fund, I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have donated to our organization, whether by volunteering or donating. We appreciate all of you more than you know. Thank you for this opportunity, for spreading awareness about Giving Tuesday and for showing how you can give back to our local organizations. Let’s make Giving Tuesday a year-round event called “Giving Today.”
