On Thursday, April 3, NCHS students and community members attended a presentation by the Healthy Communities Alliance. This event was organized by Mrs. Jennifer Maschhoff, and assisted by NCHS students who served as panelists.

The mission of Healthy Alliances is to "increase awareness and education to enhance physical and mental well-being through community partnerships. The principle mission is the reduction of substance use, with a primary focus on reducing youth substance use." These are challenging, yet important, conversations to have. Thank you to all who participated and attended to learn more.

Hornette Wins and SuperFans are a perfect combination. The Hornettes clinched the IHSA 2A Sectional Championship in a thrilling game against Breese Central on Thursday, 2/27/25 winning with a score of 44 - 36. Congratulations, ladies, on an awesome win and moving to the Super-Sectional game at Vandalia High School on Monday, 3/3/25, at 6:00 p.m. against Camp Point Central. This is the Hornettes' second consecutive appearance in the Super-Sectional game.
There to cheer on the Hornettes were part of the SuperFan Squad, including Houston Fark, Griffin Bochantin, Hayden Klingeman, and Samuel Kollbaum.

NCHS Senior Positeens
The following seniors were named 2025 Senior Positeens: Meredith Anderson, Heather Arnold, Anna Bauza, Griffin Bochantin, Addison Browne, Calvin Endres, Scarlet Konkel, Brance Luessenheide, Chloe Maschhoff, Quentin Pedtke, and Lexi Welte.
Prepare to "Be the Change You Wish to See in the World" February 3rd through February 7th with these special activities planned by the Lifesavers and Kindness Committee.
Monday, 2/3: NCHS "World Kindness Day!" Wear your kindness attire.
Trivia Night starts at 7:00! Sign up with teams of up to 6 people today.
Tuesday, 2/4: "Dream of a Kinder Day" pajama day.
Wednesday, 2/5: Say "Aloha" to Kindness. Break out your tropical wear.
Thursday, 2/6: "Double the Kindness." Dress like your friend or favorite staff member.
Play Volleyball from 6:00 - 9:00. Snacks and drinks provided.
Friday, 2/7: "Team Up, Be Kind." Wear your Hornette or Hornet gear!

Dairy Queen will host a Fundraiser Night on Monday, January 20th, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. for Señora Williamson. Dairy Queen will donate 20% of the proceeds to help offset the cost of continued medical expenses. When ordering, be sure to mention you are there for the fundraiser.
If you can, please do what you can to help.
NCHS wants to support Señora Williamson's ongoing medical needs. Please consider purchasing a candy boquet or making a donation of any amount you feel able to give. You can email or speak with Mrs. Spenner at your earliest convenience, or pre-order through this Google Form.
Staff members have been working together to create these great candy bouquets. Pictured here, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Heggemeier, and Mrs. Luessenheide work after school to keep up with orders. Shout out to Mrs. Spenner for organizing this opportunity to help a member of the NCHS family.
