Being so close to the border, Nardin also welcomes some Canadian students. So what are some major differences they see here compared to their hometown school?
Water fountains
Here at Nardin, water fountains can be slow and take a long time to fill even small water bottles (especially the one on the first floor). But in Canada the water fountains fill water bottles fast, saving time.
Pledge of allegiance
Every morning in Canada the national anthem is played on the announcements. But here we don’t play the national anthem, we say the pledge of allegiance; this is a small difference in culture.
Homecoming
Here we have a powder puff game and a homecoming dance. This is lots of fun and a great way to connect and grow friendships between friends. In Canada though, this tradition does not exist.
Although there are many differences that exist between the two countries, many similarities exist as well. Both have pride in their national sport and are always kind to their neighbors.
