Hey! Hey! Go! Go! Nardin cheerleading is on a roll! Miss Holler, the new geometry teacher, is starting Nardin's first Cheerleading Club.
For the club to begin, the Athletic Department said that there must be enough interest from freshmen, sophomores, and middle schoolers. If all goes well, this new club will become a “trend” that continues running in the future.
Miss Holler and Mrs. Healy sent out the interest forms on Monday, September 20 for students who want to cheer. Luckily, fifty students submitted their forms! The first meeting will be set for sometime in October after hearing from Canisius High School to coordinate cheering for their games. Sign up forms will also be released then, so girls can still join.
Depending on funding, in a year or two, Cheerleading Club could become an official sport at Nardin. The goals for this club are to become a competitive cheer team and to help girls who have not cheered before grow in their abilities. In the future, there could be a separate cheerleading group that cheers only for games.
Miss Holler did cheerleading when she was in high school. She felt being a part of a team helped her throughout that time. This inspired Miss Holler to start Cheerleading Club. She wanted girls to have an opportunity, even if they are not sporty, to show their skills to others and make friends.
If you have some moves to show or want to try a sport, then join Cheerleading Club!
