Harry Styles: a household name that often provokes excitement, obsession, and screaming. Recently, he has gone on a tour of the United States entitled "Love on Tour," highlighting his 2019 album, Fine Line. In these highly anticipated performances, he has made up every single concert that has been postponed due to COVID-19, along with additional dates and locations.
One of the most exciting aspects of these productions are the outfits Styles and his team create for him to wear.
According to Vogue, fans have adored that “he’s worn an array of sequined vests and glitzy shirts, often paired with high-waisted, flared trousers and suspenders.”
These almost entirely sold-out concerts bring to light just how much of a fanbase Styles has amassed. One has to wonder how, out of the five original members of One Direction, Styles has managed to become, arguably, the most successful member after the band's 2015 split.
In interviews with self-proclaimed Harry Styles lovers at Nardin, Peyton Dotton ‘25, Mary Haley ‘22, Sylvia Bargnesi ‘22, and Samantha Emke ‘22 said that they gravitate towards him because “[of] what he stands for…he’s such a good person...he brings so many people together...he makes all of us feel loved.”
This is such a testament to the loyalty of his fans and their passion for him, beyond his appearance.
Many people also appreciate his mission of Treat People With Kindness, which he often quotes, includes in his merchandise, and even wrote a song about for Fine Line. Treat People With Kindness also is part of his philanthropy initiative where a portion of ticket proceeds are donated to organizations around the world such as children’s hospitals, food banks, Times Up, and March For Our Lives.
Students who attended concerts were amazed at his stage presence and “the way he interacted with the fans.” For some, it was “the best night of my life.”
As his tour comes to a close, Harry Styles continues to influence the world as a fashion pioneer and an advocate for love and unity.
