Make Your Home a Reading Place
Create a Reading Nook in Your Home
To create a quiet place for reading you won't need to buy anything. First you can look around for a few items like these: some pillows, a comforter, a few stuffed animals, and a basket or bin for some children's books. Find other items that you think would help to make it a special spot. You can create some fun artwork for the wall or hang up some peaceful posters or photos.
Decorate the reading area with book characters or other drawings.
Now it's time to collect some reading material.
You can fill your reading nook with a variety of reading material. Gather up some children's books and magazines. Homemade creative books and booklets from school are also great choices. You can add recipe books or grocery store flyers to the choices as well.
Free Printables
You can print booklets from a variety of sites online like this one from DLTKs Sites for Kids
Make some bookmarks to go with the books.
Try painting your own bookmarks.
You can draw some flowers on your book marks.
