The first step is to see if your student qualifies for additional testing. Students who qualify for testing need to score a 90 NPR or above on the Winter Reading MAP Test for PI, or the Winter Math MAP Test for Honors Math.
If your student does earn a 90 NPR or above in Reading or Math, your student will then take the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test).
If your student scores a 90 APR or above on the CogAT, they qualify for additional testing including the IOWA and Honors Math Placement Test.
A student needs 10 points on the placement matrix to qualify for placement into PI or Honors Math. (see matrix below)
