Translation of official documents

Our office provides English and Japanese translation of documents required for procedures such as international marriage, proof of residents, etc. In particular, in the case of marriage to a person belonging to the United States Armed Forces (SOFA), it seems that in many cases, translations that are not professionally stamped by licensed office will not be accepted.

The Japanese translation will be used to prove the identity of the foreign spouse to the Japanese government office.

The English translation will be used to prove the identity of the Japanese spouse to the foreign government office.

・Affidavit for marriage (Certificate of legal capacity to marry)

・Certificate of residence (Juminhyo)

・Family register (Koseki-tohon, Koseki)

・Certificate of acceptance of marriage (Koninjyuri-shomeisho)

We charge a basic fee of 6,600 yen for each type of documents. However, if the number of pages and the number of characters are large, an additional fees will be charged.

Please prepare all documents issued by government offices. 

We generally accept requests via email. The completed translation will be delivered by mail. The postage fees will be borne by the customer as a separate actual costs.
