This course is open to all students who have a desire to learn or already have an interest in dance. Individual and group instruction will occur and students are led through a wide variety of materials and experiences in order to provide them with the knowledge, skills, and appreciation of dance expressions. Students will create, learn and teach choreography in ballet, modern and jazz, as well as understand different choreographer’s principles and techniques. A public recital will be held at the end of the semester.

This course is open to all students who have an interest in dance and choreography. Individual and group instruction will occur and students are led through a wide variety of materials and experiences in order to provide them with the knowledge, skills, and appreciation of dance expressions. Students will create, learn, and teach choreography in a variety of styles as well as understand different choreographer’s principles and techniques. They will be responsible for creating numerous choreographed pieces and will be expected to perform all with proper technique, poise, and creativity. A public performance will be held at the end of the semester.
Note: Must complete Dance Choreography 1 to take this course.
Note: Can be taken for successive semesters for a maximum of 3 credits. No more than 3 credits can be earned for this course.
Note: Jazz shoes are provided by the student. Students will need to wear clothing that they can move in.
