Why study History at Garnock?
History is about the past events and people that have shaped the world we live in today.
The first half of S3 will focus on developing the skills needed for National 4/5 through a unit about Civil Rights in the USA, 1918-1968.

In the National 4/5 course you will develop an understanding of people and society in the past.
This course has 3 units:
Scottish Historical Study – The Wars of Independence, 1286-1328
British Historical study – The Atlantic Slave Trade, 1770-1807
European and World Historical Study – Hitler and Nazi Germany, 1919-1939
You will also undertake an assignment where you will choose a topic to research and present a write-up of your findings for assessment.
