In S3 we study the following topics:
Cells and Reproduction – you will learn about the amazing building blocks of all Life on Earth ‘Cells’ and how to study them using a microscope. You will also learn about the molecule of life – DNA and animal and plant reproduction. This unit also studies controversial procedures such as genetic engineering.
Multicellular Organisms – is all about learning how cells produce new cells, how stem cells become specialised and make up the body systems such as: endocrine system, nervous system, breathing system and digestive system. You will also learn about controversial procedures such as the use of stem cells.
Life on Earth – become an ‘ecologist’ and study a range of different ecosystems and the plants and animals that live there by learning outdoors carrying out field work.
You will also learn many scientific skills essential for further study in all three sciences
