Why study Spanish at Garnock?

Spanish helps you to connect with people and cultures around the world, opening your mind to new and exciting ways of life. It’s interactive, exciting, and connects directly to the world we live in. Whether you’re curious about languages, passionate about cultures, or keen to explore working or living abroad, languages has something to offer you. 

In S3, you’ll continue to develop our 4 key skills (reading, writing, listening and talking) through a variety of interesting and exciting topics covering both language learning and cultural activities.  

Film study: you will have the opportunity to watch a modern languages film, which is an essential part of our national 4 qualification. In which, you will develop your language skills through listening and analysing the film culminating in a collaborative project. 

Culture: you will get to partake in engaging cultural activities to further broaden your horizons and understanding of French traditions and customs. 

Language learning: you will be able to develop the essential vocabulary and skills required for your National 5/Higher journey through a wide scope of topics and contexts. 

We also hope to offer more opportunities for hands on learning of the language in the form of more school trips.
