Why study Drama at Garnock?
Drama in S3 offers you exciting opportunities in both performance and design.
Core skills such as teamwork, communication, creativity and confidence will be developed through the work we do in class. These skills are not just valuable in performing arts but in all areas of life.
Drama allows for you to express yourself in various ways and the classroom is a supportive environment where you will be able to develop as both a performer and designer.
Here are some of the exciting units of work we will be doing next year:
- Using stage combat to create a movement piece centered around pirates.
- Exploring the role of a set designer by making our own shoebox sets.
- Using a script to focus on developing characterisation.
- Creating our own radios shows/podcasts with a focus on voice.
There might also be opportunities to work with theatre makers from across the country as well as be taken on trips to a live performance once you enter the senior phase of the subject.
