Chapultepec park, also known as Bosque de Chapultepec, is the largest park inside of Mexico City. It covers almost 1,700 acres of land, making it almost double the size of Central Park in New York City. Inside the park, there is so much to do. There are museums, an amusement park, a zoo, lakes, fountains, and even a castle! If you enter at the main gates, you'll see a statue of a giant grasshopper. You will have to walk through the grasshopper to enter the park. This is because "chapultepec" means "the hill of the grasshopper." Sitting on top of the hill is a huge castle. The castle is now a museum, full of beautiful art and historic artifacts. The castle is so beautiful, some film directions use it to shoot their movies! Whether you're a thrill seeker hoping for a roller coaster, an animal lover excited for a zoo, or a history buff looking to learn more, you'll find a fun day at Chapultepec park.

Xochimilco is an area of Mexico City that is full of little rivers called canals. Visitors can hop on a colorful boat and take a tour through the water. The name for these boats is trajineras (tra - hee - nare - uh). The boats can take you on a tour of the Floating Gardens. The greenery isn't really floating, but there are so many rivers and canals, the the islands look like they're floating. As you enjoy your float along in your trajinera, you may encounter other boats with bands playing music, to play along your gentle float. You may also find boats that are selling foods, crafts, and other things. It's sort of like a floating market place! Renting a trajinera and enjoying the floating gardens is a great way to enjoy Mexico City's natural beauty and give your feet a break at the same time.
Chapultepec park and Xochimilco are two amazing places to visit in Mexico city. You can hang out in the beautiful park, or float to music down the rivers and canals. If you ever find yourself in Mexico city, these are two destinations you won't want to miss.
