Island Metro is a FREE fixed route system that operates within the City of South Padre Island and Port Isabel.The system was developed by the South Padre Island City Council with the input of drivers and passengers, as well as citizens and business on both sides of the Bridge.
Island Metro transportation service is a fare-free system which relies upon continued funding of the Texas Department of Transportation through its Section 5311 Rural Transit Program and local match funding from the City of South Padre Island and City of Port Isabel Economic Development Corporation.
