This Week's Message

SUMMER is here!

It has been a school year like no other. When you reflect on your year in 4th grade, you will definitely remember how the pandemic changed school days for all of us. I hope you also remember the many special activities that made up your year in 4th grade while were all together. Hiking, nature journaling, scarecrows, marble parties, lego lessons, learning to play the ukulele and skiing were all a part of your 4th grade experience.

I have missed seeing all of you in person these past few months, but have been impressed on how you have worked on your lessons! Continue over the summer to read, read, read! Enjoy the books that make you happy! Plan on reading a new book each month. Choose a book with a friend or even a group of friends for a book club. Like any sport, if you do not practice you will not be as strong or get stronger. The same is true of reading Reading actually makes your brain work better!

I hope all of you have a wonderful summer. Please continue to practice safe social distancing and wear masks so we all will stay healthy and be able to be back together at school in the fall. When you see your teachers around, be sure to say hello! Lastly, come visit Mrs. Radu and I next year when you are not that far away in the middle school portables! You have been an awesome 4th grade!

Happy summer!

Mrs. Poirier
