Meet the Teacher

and Buster

Hi! My name is Miss Ashdown. I am your child's fourth grade teacher. I am so excited to be working with your child at Montevideo Elementary School. This year will be unlike any other and I am glad that we get to experience this new and exciting journey with each other. I have been teaching a total of 26 years, 11 here at Montevideo. I have experience teaching almost all grades levels, 1-6, but my heart lies in 4th grade. I am a mom to a furry little 2 1/2 year old little doggie named Buster. He is our unofficial classroom mascot.

I look forward to meeting everyone and working together to provide the best educational experience for your child. I encourage all parents to be involved in their child's education. I am looking forward to a wonderfully exciting school year.

Your child will need certain supplies in order to be successful in 4th grade. Please make sure that your child has these basics so that during our Zooms, and while working independently, your child will be able soar!

If you are able, please consider donating some of these supplies to our class so that I am distribute them to students who might not have access.

Often, parents ask how they can help their children to succeed in fourth grade. The links below are a list of resources that you can use to help your child excel. Be sure to also check the Student Portal. There are many kid-friendly links there to help with both reading and math.
