Can we Talk?

Choose a date and time below to set up a virtual meeting with me over Zoom.

If you would like more than 30 minutes or have other preferences, let me know in the details section.

What exactly is a Student and Family Support Coordinator?

The Student and Family Support Coordinator position was created to be a link for families between the school and other services provided within the community. The district decided to hire individuals with a social work background, as the purpose of this position aligns with many of the common roles of social workers. My role is to offer support, coordinate with other agencies in our community, and be an advocate for you and your family.

So what can a Student and Family Support Coordinator do for my family?

The Student and Family Support Coordinator supports students and their families by assisting with applications and other paperwork needed for applying for services in the community. I also coordinate with the various agencies in town (such as Pennington County Human Services, health care services including mental health, housing and transportation services) to act as your advocate. I will meet with both students and families to assist in identifying and establishing areas of support, and to build positive relationships for further growth. During this time of distance learning, I will continue to meet with students who would benefit from having a positive relationship with an adult in the school. Students or family members who wish to meet with me can call my office, send an email or request a virtual meeting through the "Can we talk?" tool above.
