The FMS math league team competed on Monday, the 14th at Bemidji Middle School and tied with them for 1st place at the meet.
Our teams competed very well, and we even had 3 perfect test scores. Gabby Zoller aced event B and Owen Shaw scored perfect on Event A & B! Great start to the year for everyone!!
Competing this year are:
8th grade: Hailey Halvorson, Rowan Mossestad, Elijah Williams and Gabby Zoller
7th grade: Quincee Bergee, Milena Jones, Lillian Lane, Piper Swanson, Emma Shomaker, Aurora Thomas and Bentley Tunheim
6th: Robert Crandall, Owen Shaw, Silas Teggatz and Wesley Zoller

The FMS math league team competed at St. Philips in Bemidji.
Thief River had 2 teams who ended up in 2nd and 4th place. A special congratulations to Owen Shaw who got a perfect test on event A, and to Hailey Halvorson and Rowan Mossestad who got just 1 wrong!

We hosted the 3rd meet of the season here at Franklin. We won the meet and our 2nd team placed 4th. Overall, our A team is in 2nd place, and our second team is in 4th place.
Individually, Hailey Halvorson, Rowan Mossestad, Owen Shaw, and Gabby Zoller are in the top 10 scorers for our division.

The FMS math league team competed in Bemidji Middle School for the 4th meet In our division, our teams remain in 2nd and 4th place. High scorers for Franklin at the 4th meet were Owen Shaw with 16, Hailey Halvorson with 14, and Piper Swanson with 12.
At the state level, FMS is currently 67th out of about 300 teams.

The team finished the final regular season competition at St. Philip's in Bemidji with a 2nd place team title. Individually, Piper Swanson was 15th, Rowan Mossestad 13th, Gabrielle Zoller was 12th, Lillian Lane took 9th , Hailee Halvorson 5th, and Owen Shaw 2nd (Owen was beat by 2 points over the entire season!)
Quincee Bergee, Silas Teggatz, Aurora Thomas, Elijah Williams and Wesley Zoller also finished in the top 1/2 of all competitors in the northern division!
The next competition will be the regional meet on February 7th at Northland.

Math Counts 2023-24
The FMS math league team finished up their season on Friday, February 9 at the regional Math Counts meet at Northland. The team placed 4th at the competition, and individually, Angela Li placed 7th.
