Our Keynote Panelists!

Jeanette Wright

“I am a Family Assistant for the NYC DOE, servicing families with students in temporary housing for two different family shelters for the last five years in Bushwick. I am a firm advocate in helping students affected by homelessness with their academic growth.”

Simone Pitts

“I started my career with the Department of Education as a teacher in the South Bronx for 13 years. My passion then and now is to help our students believe in themselves as we work to knock down or climb over barriers to success. I now have the privilege to serve as the Bridging the Gap Social Worker at P.S./M.S. 279.”

Jason Capeles

“I'm a public servant that seeks to serve as a beacon of inspiration for all those who cross my path. Growing up, I was told I was going to be a failure—and almost believed in those words—until someone believed in me, so I strive to be that believer in our future generations.”
