This year, we are honored to partner with the Museum of Moving Image and Adobe to bring the 2nd Annual Community Schools Video Contest to communities across New York City.

We are calling ALL AND ANY COMMUNITY MEMBERS interested to participate. Submissions due May 23rd!

This year’s contest will have three parts:

The Moving Image StoryLab

The Moving Image StoryLab took place on April 27th.

Participants were able to learn more about:

    • Adobe Spark
    • Video planning and design

We also held individual Q&As with an Adobe trainer and MoMI Teaching Artists.

Submissions

Submit your video by May 16th for “light touch” feedback from a MoMI Teaching Artist.

The FINAL DEADLINE for video submissions is May 23rd 11:59pm EST.

Note: Before submitting, all consent forms should be digitized and your video uploaded on a video sharing site.

Any member of the Community Schools network (including students, teachers, family members, community partners and Lead CBOs) is welcome to submit entries

Videos could center on topics such as unsung heroes, uncharted local histories, or fictional stories inspired by everyday life.

All cinematic styles are encouraged, including:

    • Drama
    • Comedy
    • Horror
    • Documentary
    • Action
    • Musical
    • Superhero
    • Animation
    • Visual poems
    • Etc...

ALL participants and locations MUST have signed consent forms, which are found here.

Up to 10 Finalists will be chosen by a special panel. Judging criteria located here.

The Museum of the Moving Image is hosting a culminating event for the Video Contest in conjunction with their CASA Animation After School Programs.

This event will include a chance to see your work up on the big screen, certificates, and a reception following.
