Eco Club Launches "Together Let's Save The World" Campaign
Senior Mayra Acevedo has launched the STEAM Legacy Eco Club "Together Let's Save the World" campaign for 2018-2019. Mayra hopes to involve club members in learning about environmental challenges and taking specific steps to help. Anyone interested can text "@steameco" to the number 81010.
Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus Students attend AP Readiness at UCLA
Mr. Labor's AP Calculus class attends AP Readiness Saturday classes at UCLA. Students have the opportunity to learn from AP Calculus Test experts and take part in focused learning with students from all over LAUSD. Keep up the good work guys!
National Honors Society (NHS) Volunteers at the LA FOOD BANK
Saturday September 29th, National Honor Society Students volunteered at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. This event helps fight hunger in the Los Angeles area. NHS members prepared hundreds of bags of food and enjoyed a day of service together.
Students Attend Local District Leadership Summit
STEAM Legacy High School students Miguel Guzman, Diego Arcos, Javeir Funez, Leslie Urias, and Nataly Contreras attend this year's Leadership Summit at South Gate High School. Students heard from Assembly Member Anthony Rendon and Jackie Goldberg, former assembly woman and prominent human rights activist.
Homecoming Dance Attracts More than 500 Students.
Homecoming 2018 was yet again proven to be our schools biggest social event of the year. The dance brings together all three schools and all grade levels for a night of dancing, friends, and fun. Thank you to all the students, teachers and administrators that helped make this event possible.
Fall Club Fest Introduces Extracurricular Activities
Hundreds of STEAM Students attended this year's Fall Club Fest hosted by the STEAM Leadership Class. Students were able to ask questions and join the many clubs that are present at STEAM. A list of STEAM's Registered Clubs can be found here.
Leadership Students Publish Calendar of Events
Leadership Students completed the planning of the Fall events and established committees. The Leadership Class has begun to publish their calendar of events for the 2018-2019 School Year. Please see the Student Life Event Calendar here.
Legacy Leos Service Club Induct 20 New Members
The Legacy Leos provide opportunities for students to engage in community service. Twenty new leo club members were joined by Lions International representatives, Ms. Biswas and Mr. Parra Camacho. Congratulations to all new inductees!

The Legacy Leos provide opportunities for students to engage in community service. This event helped feed hundreds of families in the South L.A. area. Students assembled and distributed bags of food. Mr. Parra Camacho serves as club advisor.

Students and teachers took part in a 5k run as part of the Girls Build LA Campaign to address homelessness. This year's event was highly successful, thanks to all who attended to help with this great cause.
