In any normal year, this last February would have been a time of excitement and spectacle for many residents of Brattleboro, Vermont and even those from many other parts of the world as the ski jumping season was in full swing with high-flying exploits.
However this past year has shown itself to be anything but normal, and as such winter sports fans will go without Brattleboro’s annual Harris Hill Ski Jump this season.
While relatively minor compared with the trauma of the coronavirus pandemic and economic downturn, his closure does have a rather significant effect on many people's lives and is a painful reminder of the long reach of the pandemic and the way it affects people’s lives.
