Delete the book from your Destiny records.
Catalog > Update copies > click “Track as weeded” > scan the barcode to delete the book
Remove or black out any barcodes from the book, mark out any stamped school name/address, and write “Discard” or “D” inside the front cover of the book.
Place all of the discarded books into copier paper sized boxes weighing no more than 40 pounds.
Label the boxes and place them somewhere the warehouse can easily access them for removal.
Ask the custodian (or any staff that has access to submit work orders) to complete an Archibus request for the items to be picked up.

Bag the items in a black trash bag and throw away. The warehouse does not collect these items.
To begin the technology discard process, sort the computer equipment from the audio/video equipment
Examples of computer equipment: laptops, monitors, tablets, towers, fax machines, printers, keyboards, mice, etc.
Create an Inventory Control Sheet for computer equipment.
Examine your discarded items. On the inventory control sheet, fill in:
Location Code (three-digit school number)
Location Name
Asset No.
Qty
Description
Serial no.
DC (disposal code)
3 (junked) is the most common.
Your principal signs at the bottom in the “approved by” section.
Try to put as many of the items as possible into boxes no larger than copier paper boxes and weighing no more than 40 pounds.
Submit a ticket in Fresh Services for discarded technology to be picked up.
Label the boxes and place them somewhere the warehouse can easily access them for removal. Attach a paper copy of all inventory control sheets to the stack of boxes. The warehouse staff will need you to sign the sheet(s) when they perform the pickup.
Send the signed Inventory Control Sheet to the Fixed Assets Department.
