There are two resources that schools use in GCS, either Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) or American Reading Company (ARC).
In 3rd Grade classrooms at schools using CKLA, students work through two strands: Skills and Knowledge. At schools using ARC, students work through four units: a literacy lab, a research/informational text lab, a genre study, and an argumentative lab. Below, you will find icons to take you to more information about what learning looks like in schools using these materials.
Check out the Elementary School Resources page to see district-provided instructional resources teachers can use during their instruction, and that you can use to support student learning at home.
