I'm Karla, and I'm from Cebu, Philippines. Cebu is known for its beautiful beaches, stunning nature, friendly locals, and well-regarded English language schools. 

I started teaching online at a Japanese-owned ESL company in 2017 and moved to Kanagawa, Japan a year later to work for the parent company. After two years, I returned to the Philippines and worked as a freelance English tutor. Currently, I'm working as a foreign English teacher at Ho-Sin Elementary School in Taiwan. 

I arrived in Taiwan in November 2022 with the goal of enriching the language experience of young learners as an English teaching assistant at Ho-Sin Elementary School. This opportunity came through the Taiwan Foreign English Teacher Program (TFETP), an initiative by the Ministry of Education aimed at improving English language instruction in schools across the country. 

As of the new school year 2024-2025, I have transitioned to a position as a foreign English teacher at the same school. I share the same goal of creating an immersive and supportive learning environment that inspires my students to develop their language skills and cultural awareness.
