The BIG Picture
Planning for an effective school year begins with understanding the school community. As you design your classroom environment (physical and social-emotional) you need to be sure your goals/objectives align with the larger school community.
Before you begin, read about 'Jana'. In your opinion, what did Jana "fail" to do? Let her experience frame your thinking as you continue with today's task. How did Jana forget to, "Put first things first"?
Task: Pretend that you have just been hired to teach in the Dual Language Program. You will be teaching a 2nd/3rd grade class. It is up to you to decide if you will be the Spanish or English Side of the Dual Program. As you begin your planning, you decide to review State Data and the School Website. As you review the resources below, take stock of your impressions. Below is the document you will need to complete. DO NOT TYPE IN THE DOCUMENT ON THIS PAGE. A Copy has been made available to you in Google Classroom.
