The evolution of candy has changed so much over the years. It started by cavemen eating honey for its sweetness, to people creating different kinds of candy and flavors. The first candy was actually used for cult purposes by Egyptians. Different civilizations candied fruit and nuts with honey. Licorice is one of the oldest types of candy, which is made by a plant called “Glycyrrhiza,” or sweet root. M&M’s and Snickers are some of the most popular candies in the world, but in Brea Junior High the most popular candies are mostly different types of sour gummies.
