Many people struggle deciding what gift to give their friends and family for occasions like birthdays, holidays, or graduations. These people tend to end up with rushed cards and late Amazon deliveries. If you are one of those people, here are some birthday gift ideas for your next upcoming special occasions.

Gift cards are a classic gift for last minute forgotten events. Gift cards are easy to buy and fit in most cards. Some gift card choices can include restaurants, dessert places, stores, and even Mastercards. A Mastercard is a debit card, except the person that is gifted cannot insert money and only withdraw. The person who buys the Mastercard chooses the amount of money to insert in the Mastercard.
Gift Basket
Gift baskets are very unique and thoughtful gifts. Many people love gift baskets. Gift baskets are way more visually appealing than a bunch of random gifts stuffed into a bag. Gift baskets can include skincare products, bath bombs, essential oils, and snacks. You can also put in birthday cards, books, and more. Decorations, mini balloons, and confetti can make your gift basket seem fuller and more performative.
Crafting Kits
Many people enjoy sewing, drawing, crocheting, and more crafts. Crafting kits are perfect for those people, and especially children and elders. Most children and elders have more free time than adults. Many children and elders also enjoy crafting. Crafting kits are a must for your friends and family that love making crafts.
Food Packages
Food packages are pretty common as a gift despite the unserious name. Food packages can include soup kits, DIY boba packets, cheese boards, homemade pastries, s'more packets, and more. These packages allow people to enjoy restaurant level and homemade food from the comfort of their house without having to go through the hassle of making it themselves.
Electronics
Electronic gift cards or electronics are perfect for birthdays and other special occasions. Headphones, airpods, watches, and gift cards from brands like Samsung, Apple, and others can be gifted. There are also other electronics like mini fridges, electronic scooters, speakers, concert lightsticks, and a lot more. These gifts are probably not for people on budgets, but Amazon and Target have a lot of cheaper versions. For example, instead of Apple airpods, Target has a bluetooth airpod with a fun design for only around $10.
Gift Jars/Bottles
Gift jars/bottles are a really common gift that is given during holidays and birthdays. Gift jars/bottles involve water bottles, travel mugs, cups, vases, and other types of jars/bottles. These containers are then stuffed with different gifts like handwritten cards, gift cards, gloves, tea bags, scarves, and sauce packets. It is a very convenient gift, since the container doubles as a separate gift.
Sancks
Edible gifts are a good choice for people who love tasting happiness and enjoying different flavors. Gourmet/culinary gifts like chocolate boxes and cheese boards are a great choice for holidays. Cheese boards are a way for all people at a holiday party to test out different cheese tastes and textures. Chocolate is a world-wide delicacy that is gifted everyday and enjoyed. Utensils and cooking sets can also be gifted to people who love cooking.
Bath Sets
If your friend/family is a spa person, or loves a good bath at the end of the day, bath sets are a perfect gift for them. Bath bombs and bath sets allow them to enjoy a relaxing bath at home. Bath sets are a great gift and can be bought from many stores like Bath and Body Works, Lush, and many more.
Flowers and Cards
Flowers and cards are a classic gift that are appropriate for almost all occasions. Flowers and cards could be given at weddings, holidays, birthdays, competitions, and probably all of the occasions you can think of! Flowers are a very cherished gift, and can come in different forms, not only live flowers. Crocheted flowers and hand-crafted flowers are a very creative gift. You can hand make flowers by cutting up scraps from books or magazines or crochet with yarn.
Miscellaneous(trinkets, plushies, etc)
If none of these gifts that were listed above fits your budget, or you are unable to get a hold of them in time, here are some random gifts that may provide you with the perfect gift idea. Plushies are a really common gift for birthdays. A lot of places like Build-a-Bear sell self-customized plushies. Books are a good choice for students or someone who loves to read. Random trinkets or souvenirs might work, either. Passed down bracelets and jewelry are really common for birthdays, graduations, and more occasions. Blind boxes are also a pretty common gift, too. One example of the many blind boxes you could buy are Simiskis. Simiskis are cute, glow-in-the-dark figurines.
BONUS: Birthday Card Ideas
Now that you’ve chosen a gift idea, your gift is probably still not complete without a handwritten card. If this card is given to a more formal occasion, the starting sentences should be appropriate for the event. For example, if you are giving a gift for a wedding, it could start with something like, “Dear [name of bride and groom], …” and end with a blessing. If this card is meant for a close friend or family member, the card would contain more casual phrases. Birthday cards can easily be made at home by cutting a rectangle of cardstock and folding it in half, then writing in it. Pre-made cards are sold in many stores like Target and Walmart. These pre-made cards often include cute designs and cards for any occasion. You could even print a card out but a handmade card is more meaningful.
