Fantasy Disney Cruise Orlando
This trip was one of the best I’ve ever been on and is fun for all ages! There were endless things to do as well as two days on Disney’s private islands! Here are some of the things there were to do on this trip of a lifetime.
Food
Every day there was a breakfast and lunch buffet open for breakfast, from 8:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. There was endless food and great oceanside tables. For breakfast there was everything from scrambled eggs to Mickey shaped waffles that make your mouth water. Dinner was a whole different story. There were two different times, early and late dinner, at one of many Disney restaurants. My family and I went to three of the restaurants. There was wonderful service with the same waiter or waitress every night, and five-star food with on-theme desserts that go with the event of the day. I had the best meals that made me never want to leave. Next, were snacks throughout the day. There was an ice cream bar, drink refill stations, 24/7 fries, burgers, pizza and more! For the shows there was popcorn, and for the lazy ones, room service with everything on every menu.
Sights
Disney loves their hidden meanings, and for this reason alone, there are many sights on the ship including a 500 pound ginger bread house made out of real ginger bread and icing! This took a whole seven days to complete by the Disney culinary team! There also were many other small things with huge meaning on the ship. On the fifth deck, there was a tiny (very realistic) door that belonged to Pepe from “The Muppets” with many cool tiny photos on it with him and the rest of his friends from the show. These are used for the interactive detective game where you go around the ship finding clues in the moving pictures on each deck by the elevators. Before you even board the ship, there is a mini replica of the Fantasy Cruise Ship inside the boarding room. It replicates everything perfectly, from the “Kidz Club pool”, to the trivia room inside the ship. Disney put in loads of work to make every inch of the cruise special even in things we unknowingly walk past.
Entertainment
There were endless things to do on this trip. Whether it’s watching one of Disney’s live musicals, or seeing fireworks at sea, there’s never a dull moment on this amazing cruise! There were three musicals, Aladdin, Frozen, and Disney’s Believe The Musical. Everyone knows how the Frozen and Aladdin story goes, but Disney’s Believe Show was unique to the cruise. This story was about a little girl trying to get his dad to believe in magic. Throughout the story, the dad is met by numerous Disney characters who tell him to believe. The show ends by him believing, and giving his daughter the best birthday ever. More shows on the cruise involve the Junkanoo parade on Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, the Pirates of the Caribbean Show on Pirate night as we were sailing through the Caribbean, and many smaller shows like the “tree lighting ceremony”, the “seeya real soon goodbye party”, and more. Other things to look forward to were the daily movie showing in Walt Disney theater and fun things to do in the Kids club all day. On the 11th deck there were activities like goofy’s mini golf, basketball and soccer, and a VR sports room, which a booking is required.
Disney’s Private Islands
Two of the days on the cruise were dedicated to a stop at Disney’s private islands, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on the first day, and Castaway Cay on the second day. Of course, Disney loves their trams and had one for both islands so we didn’t have to wait long to be there. Both islands were picture perfect and beautiful. Lookout Cay had beautiful pink-ish, orange-ish colored sand from broken down snail shells that were pink! At Lookout Cay, there is a chance for you to go on the nature walk and see many of the animals who call Lookout Cay home including lizards, snails, geckos and other reptiles. The beach was beautiful with everything you could want on a hot beach day with a beautiful open horizon with nearly no waves and beautiful wildlife. In the water you would find stingrays, lightning fish, minnows, and so much more. The sand was soft, fine, and perfect for sand castles! At Disney’s Castaway Cay, deeper in the Bahamas, there were more things to do in terms of adults separated from children. Scuttle’s Cove is the 18+ beach where it has more shallow waters and is a lot less crowded. There were three beaches including Scuttles Cove. One of the two was mostly for kids with all of the food nearer to there. The beach has deep waters that are about five to six feet and includes a splash pad park with two water slides. The cast members provide lifevests for little ones, inner tubes, and float mats up for rent. The third beach was open way bigger for ziplining, parasailing, scuba diving, and more fun things to do (booking is required beforehand)!
Service
Out of every five-star category on this trip, from the beaches to food, I think the best part of the cruise was the service. There were thousands of cast members working hard every day of the cruise to make each and every family feel special. Whether it’s greeting families whenever they can, doing tricks at the dinner table, or playing with children, all of these amazing cast members deserve a raise for everything they did for us. Each family had the same waiter and waitress that gave recommendations, did tricks, and gave five-star service with a smile on their face no matter what happened. We also had a room service worker who made our room look squeaky clean and made the cutest, coolest towel and blanket animals twice a day while we did fun activities out of our room.
Overall, I feel like this was a really fun experience and I definitely recommend booking this trip for all ages. It’s totally different from other Disney Parks or restaurants and although it can get expensive it’s worth it. Once you go, you’ll immediately want to do it again!
