Red Ribbon Week is a week where we could celebrate NOT doing drugs. A little history about this celebration: we all started by remembering the death of DEA agent Enrique Camarena. Angry, people started wearing a red ribbon to show that they knew about the harmful things happening in the US, such as murder and death, due to all the drugs in the world. The NFP(Nurse-Family Partnership) started sponsoring the Red Ribbon Week. Even though this tradition is old, this doesn’t stop us from saying NO to drugs. Today, Red Ribbon Week is dedicated to learning about staying away from drugs. In this 5 day week, we have been celebrating 5 different methods to stay away from drugs. Friday last week was twin day to make sure friends do not do drugs. Monday was wearing crazy socks Day, " so wear crazy socks today. Tuesday was sports day to TEAM up against drugs. Wednesday was the day we wore red, to say NO to drugs and Thursday, Halloween, the spookiest day of the month and year, was the day we wore costumes to say BOO to drugs.
“Stay away from drugs. They’re not worth it. I’ve tried, but none of them are worth it.”
