Coach Bralley is the head athletic coordinator at New Tech. He chose to work at New Tech because he realized that the New Tech’s staff puts student’s education first. He also stated, “We have outstanding leaders … on campus that provide our means to explore different ways to reach our student population. I had a chance to walk through the campus in 2013 and saw what the students … were producing and knew that if given the opportunity I wanted to be part of this campus.”
Bralley decided to become a coach because he wanted to make a positive impact. He also expressed that he wanted to “help develop strong leaders to help the growth of our community, state, and country.”
Coach Bralley is definitely a good addition to New Tech because the students love him! His coaching style is a mixture of a “players coach” and not only enhancing athletic experience, but also enhancing educational experience. He stated, “New Tech's goal is to provide the highest level of education and we hope that our athletics program helps achieve this goal.” Freshman Za’Ron Lee said that Coach Bralley encouraged him personally by playing music and telling him what he did wrong and right. That is what most students want in a coach.
This leads us into our next topic, how does Bralley help his athletes with goals? Coach Bralley states, “Our coaches put our athletes in game-like conditions and work with them to push themselves, … at the end of the day it is how much effort our athletes want to put in. We start with fundamentals … and build from there.” Adding on to what Za’Ron had said about coach Bralley, it can help students achieve their goals if you tell them what they’re doing wrong, as well as what they’re doing right. There are also a few students who have accomplished their goals with Coach Bralley’s help. For example, Leland Moore won a singles tournament in tennis, and also a doubles tournament with his partner, thanks to the coach's help.
