Begin a list of all activities, clubs, honors that you have been involved in during high school. This list will be helpful in completing applications.
Consider college options and decide what is important to you. Location? Curriculum? Size? Diversity? Athletics? Social life? Cost?
Visit college websites and request information be sent to you as a prospective student. Designate a location or create a file to collect this information.

Visit colleges you are considering. Remember to obtain the college visit form from your assistant principal or counselor.
Take advantage of onsite visits when admissions representatives visit the campus to see prospective students.
When you narrow your choices to top five colleges, try to talk to students who attend those schools. Ask questions about the parts of college life you believe are important.
If interested in competing in NCAA Division I or II athletics, register at the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Make an effort to be involved in community or extra-curricular activities at school. Admission officers and scholarship providers want to see evidence of leadership.

Visit with counselor about employment opportunities

Look for opportunities to shadow someone in a trade area of interest
Discuss military option with family
Research the different branches of the military
Talk to people who have been in or are currently in the military
Consider taking an ROTC class if it will fit in your schedule
